UINR is pleased to announce that Keith Christmas is joining our staff as Unama’ki Guardian Coordinator.

With a wealth of experience in natural resource management, Keith has been a Guardian in Membertou for almost 10 years.

Here’s what Keith has to say: “I am very excited to work with such a highly-respected organization as the Unama’ki Guardian Program Coordinator. I believe this is an important time to be an aboriginal guardian in Unama’ki. Unama’ki is currently experiencing renewed developments of the aboriginal food fishery, impacts on our natural resources from industrialization such as oil and gas exploration, and threats to our communities as a result of climate change. This presents a great opportunity for the guardians to make valuable contributions in Unama’ki to protect and sustain our natural resources. I have been a guardian since 1992 and remain committed to taking the guardian program to a new level.”
